Or take the 4runner's breakover angle which magically grew from 22 degrees (2003 specs) to 28 degrees (2006-2008) despite no changes underneath. Thus, IMHO, Lexus specs have been more accurate than Toyota.

I'm not very familiar with the 4runner/GX470's but could the discrepancy be because running boards were standard on the GX470's and not standard on all 4runners? Surely, that would change ground clearance and breakover angle.

Nope. Many 4runner owners have manually measured their lowest point (front skidplate) and confirmed that ground clearance is indeed around 8.3". The front skidplate is lower than the running boards.
The breakover angle changed for the 4runner itself from year to year! Lexus does not state breakover angle in it's stats. I think that the running boards are higher than bottom of frame.

Yes, GX has won 4x4 of the year its first two years out, not bad for a luxury SUV.

Interesting thing i read in both brochures...the TLC has 31 air vents while LX570 has "only" 28 air vents. Both have 4-zone A/C. Damn cost cutting! Just kidding.

March is just around the corner, I am wondering if anyone has seen any new LC/LX on the road.
I for one have not come across any of them.

In Dallas
Mine is the only one I've seen on the road (got it last night), but the 2 big dealers have delivered about 25 since January...must have headed straight for the mountains?

I have only seen one other LX570 unit is Jacksonville other than mine. I find myself leaving the Home Depot only to find as many as 6 people looking at my 570. I do not mine except for the guy who left a greasy forehead print on my side window!

I've also only seen one...also black.
Some guy pulled up today and rolled down his window and said "nice car...wanna race?" and asked me a few questions at a stoplight. Black Mercedes but couldnt tell what it was..he was on my right.
I could barely make out the "S65" as it was just a blur..haha
I'm surprised at how many people look at it. I wanted it because I thought it was a very unassuming car. My 470 was!

I suprised a ML owner last weekend getting on the expressway. It was a dual lane and we were side by side. We both punched it and my beast "smartly" pulled away from him, even going past 90! I let off the gas and he pulled up next to me and gave me a thumbs up!

I saw my first Lx570 blended in with other cars at Calgary's Olympic Park. With other cars in the lot the Lexus looks great than when compared to only Lexus vehicles at the dealer. One thing I really like is the clamshell tailgate. Overall looked great. I saw a number of other Lexus 100 series models and one feature the 570 lacks is the rear power push out windows. It was a beautiful day here in Calgary and the one 470 had the windows open.
Overall the 570 looks great blended in with other cars

My wife and I will be buying a new suv this coming fall/winter...I think we still prefer the 06/07 Land Cruiser over the others.
