Not saying they are bad but been on Michelins for the last 5 vehicles and it does not look like they make a 285/50R20!

Also anyone got the OEM wheels chromed yet or does someone make 20X8.5" for the LX570 bolt pattern?

I totally agree with you I would prefer Michelin over the Dunlops.

Not exactly apples to apples but we have the OEM Dunlops on our 2006 LX470 and they're not very good. Had I not taken a ride in another LX470 with the OEM Michelins I probably would never have known the difference but I find myself in the unique position of actually hoping that the tread doesn't last too long on these tires so that I have an excuse to replace them.

Never had good luck with the Dunlops. On an early LX470 I had a defect the size of my fist on the inside of one of my fronts tires. No reason for it as the tire guy says it looked like it was a tire defect as he could not see where it was damaged from the outside. Just a big bubble that I am glad I noticed before it blew. I will be changing the Dunlops out as soon as I get some time!

Same with my Lexus LX 470--dunlops. Lousy tire.

The LX570 that I test drove at my local dealership had Michelins on them. They were 285/50R20.

I will be looking into tire options soon as I have no confidence in the Dunlops. I prefer the Michelins but I see there are several tire makers making this size, some with a rather attractive tread pattern!

I am looking for a top performance street tire with good wet traction as I live in Florida. Snow use is not required.

Anyone know about tires, i would appreciate any comments. The Michelins I found in that size did not look that good but looks are not everything.

These Dunlops have little tread depth, what is up with that?

I did some research and found out about the Michelin Latitude Tour HP
is very good for the rain.
I also live in the State of Florida.
When I am ready to purchase the LX570 I will tell the sales person that I want Michelin tires. I am quite sure it will be extra $$$.

I am going to call around to see if my local tire people can get these Michelins. I am betting they will have to order them.

The Latitude Tour HP specs are impressive.

Could someone enlighten me about the difference between the Dunlops and the Michelins on the 570? My 570 has Dunlops and they seem fine except for perhaps more road noise than I recall with the Michelins on my 470. I am looking for an "apples to apples" comparison. Thanks.

Mainly personal preference but the Michelins are more quiet and they "seem" to give a better ride.

Mostly just preference.

Greg, thanks, I appreciate the feedback. It sounds pretty subtle but still.............., those are two issues I am having. My 570 ride is great but seems a bit "floaty" and the Dunlops smack every contruction joint. My tire monitor says 34# and my tire gauges says 32.5# so they are not over inflated. Just trying to get it right for the big upcoming road trip.

never ever buy OEM again (99% of the time) when you get new tires. You can find superior performing tires at a lower price than the OEM model tire. You cant make blanket statements about how good a brand is, michelin makes some real good, and at the same time some real bad tire models. You can say this about every major tire manafacturer. Just do your research
