Default 400hp and 420lb-ft

http://www.lexus.com/pursuit_archive...007/index.html

Beneath the LX 570’s stylish hood slumbers an all-new 5.7-liter V8 engine. And with approximately 400 horsepower [3], 420 lb-ft of torque [3] and a precisely tuned six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission at your disposal, the LX performs admirably on even the most challenging road conditions.

[3]
Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.

Good find. Well thats interesting. I thought the Press Release said 381hp like the Tundra??

Or is it 400hp because thats the rating on Premium gas?? Does the Tundra run on regular? I tohught it was premium only?

I predicted this way back. No way the Lexus won't have a HP bump. 400 is about right.

Well, they say APPROXIMATELY, not OVER 400hps. That could be 381hps too.

no it can rum 87 octane, all Toyota hp ratings are on 87 octane.

I believe Lexus rates all their vehicles on 91 octane.

I would prefer if it is 400hps. I mean it's wrong to just lift the motor from tundra (Toyota Truck) and drop it into LX (Lexus Flagship) without any modifications.

We will see.

No, I mean put this 5.7L engine into the GS and call it GS570. The GS460 will do just fine however.

I don't understand. Why would you want to put a truck motor into a sedan?

I think GS500 (5.0L V8 from IS-F) would be more suitable for the GS?

I'd rather have a torque rich truck motor in my Sedan

why not?

In the end, the engine will still be an engine. There's nothing magically special about the 5.7L that makes it a bad candidate for a car.
