Damn, this is not a good thing. The only real good thing about the LX is that it is a "Landcruiser" that has nicer leather, stereo, etc. But the bottomline its a Landcruiser. I know to some members the most important thing is baby seat latches (just pokin fun guys). I hope this new LX isn't a Sequoia or the next LX I buy will be a Landcruiser

I said it before, I'll say it again... a vehicle called an LX which is not based on an LC is ridin' dirty!

LOL. I wonder where 1SICK came up with that information.
I am strongly believer that LX has to be baesd on LC otherwise

We have speculated for sometime the new LX would get a lot bigger as the GX is near it in dimensions. The new Tundra seems the logical choice, after seeing it in person, it is just huge.
I cannot say this is the case though. The LX is produced in Japan.

^^^
In pure automotive competitive terms, I hope so...some of the competition have a good 5-10 cubic feet more onboard space...we'll see though what the tradeoffs might be.

Excellent news!!! It's fitting that the first Lexus SUV ever will debut L-Finesse on SUVs. Although I imagine it's much harder to do that kind of styling on the more boxy SUV designs. Maybe something like the GL class?
I too doubt that they will dissociate from the LC. On one hand it eliminates the rebadging connotation but the LC has a legendary heritage...

Guess we will find out in a couple of weeks but I'm betting very small changes in the looks department, but big changes in the performance department.

If I'm not mistaken, the LX570 will continue to be a Toyota Land Cruiser derivative. As a separate model, there'll likely be a Lexus VX570, as a derivative of the upcoming 2nd-generation Toyota Sequoia, possibly becoming the first U.S.-built Lexus, to do battle against the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and Infiniti QX56.

Whoa, between the VX supersized SUV, the possible JX midsized 3-row crossover, and then the smaller "CX"? Europe-market crossover...a bit of SUV overload. I sense a bit of cannibalization in-house.
A VX would have to be very, very differentiated from the previously top of the line LX....
