Beautiful. I myself have a 2005, in the pearl white color. Bought it 3 years ago with 57K miles (currently 95K). Its built like a Tank, however I have kept it dealer maintained through out with all services done at lexus dealership. I never had any issue with this truck and it still drives and looks very good. I think it will go another 100K without any issues. I am planning on passing it to my son who is currently 9 :-)

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. I had wanted a LC/LX for a long time and traded in my F150 for the LX. I couldn't believe my luck of finding an '03 with so little mileage that was dealer maintained, etc.

The LX is now one Week, I'm loving it ... now comes the first Drive from Montreal to Toronto ONT.

We will now put about 1400 KM on the LX, right now the ODO stands at 67 KM

I will see now how the comfort will be. I will also put a pic of the black Beast.

Just brought our 2004 LX470 from a car yard up north, think we got a little shafted, drove it home - drives like a dream, cant believe the comfort,
Found faults on the way home that we were advised were all good
- MFD not working for rev camera or nav,
- Oil pressure gauge not working
- Rain sensor fell off windscreen on way home
- Seat belt warning lights staying on
- Front park assist not working.

Have made contact with car yard but they just keep referring me to the warranty group who I know will give me the run around as have dealt with them through my mechanical business for my customers,
Have checked oil pressure with mechanical gauge - all good so no major faults with engine
Researched MFD fault and looks costly but will have to wait to see what warranty group will do as not allowed to touch until after they decide what to do,

Best of all my wife loves it and is happy with the ride and comfort

Hi, I'm new to this forum. A few days ago I bought a 1997 Lexus LX450, to replace my 1983 Land Cruiser HJ60. Love it already!
It's still original, but will be used for overlanding, so it needs some build-up. My wife and I are Dutch, but we live in Suriname, South America. In November we will leave for an extended trip through the whole of South America. I hope to find a lot of information here and will also try to contribute the little knowledge I have

joined over here mainly for the rx350 i recently purchased but i also have owned an lx450 for a while as my wheelin rig. im on ih8mud pretty frequently and, although my lx is probably a lil out of place over here, i figured i'd post it up any way.

Hey gang: got a question : I have 1996 LX 450 and daughter was heading back to school when power just quit.. Oil pressure and temp fine pior . coasted to side of road. When I arrived, starter just whirled over no compresssion. My fears is Timing chain. What does this sound like.

Wishing it could be someting simple. Great vehicle as I have had since 1997 not issues. 253, 375 K miles. Hoping somehting else ??

Update from this morning post: Just heard from my Lexus mechanic Motor Works ( Cordovea TN), Says my they could see my Cam turning when they tried to start car L Yeah No Timing Chain issue obviosuly. But strange as my cyliinder heads were flooded with fuel. They cleaned them, put some oil in them, were able to get car back started and after smoke cleared, Engine ran like champ, not fumes or smoke etc. Just like it should. They used today as the vehicle to go get parts as official shop car. Could not so far get vehicle to shut down again as it did last night on highway. Drove severeal miles today and took out on I-40 ran during lunch 75 mph for hour round trip. Started, stopped, smooth lidle and stars etc.

Thought might be stopped up Cat. Converter ?? Trying to figure out and calling LX 40 mechanics whom may have heard of this. Strange. Would really like some comments if any one ever had this happen. They will keep the week and have told them to use the week and drive this weekend. My daughter car I wan to make sure does not happen again with her i possible. Any comments??
