Low RPM
2007 lx470 with 86K miles. with brake on and on D rpm reads 200 with no shaking or vibration, completely normal idling but isn't that too low?
what could cause that?ideas?

Sounds like a bad tach filter, ground, poor connection. Does RPM display correctly at other times? E.G when in neutral? at speed?
When and what was the last time anyone put a tool on the LX for any reason prior to this?

I'd look around for rusty grounds and clean them up.
Also, look for repaired electrical circuits or circuits that have had stuff added to them. Example, a hard wired external device. As I recall, you had talked about installing an aftermarket device for the IPOD ore something like that. Check your wiring and where you are getting the power from, if that is the case.

ipod integration was installed by previous owner, and if i remember correctly he installed in in the dealer!!
also, i have k40 installed and remote starter but all in the dealer, it might be related but wouldn't know how to check the circuits

If your engine is running well, the IAC is not likely an issue. For some reason your tach is getting an incorrect signal. There is no chance the engine would even run at 200 rpm so you know its a signalling issue of some soret. You might consider buying some time on the Toyota Tech site and see if they have a dagnostic for the tach
