Default 2000 LX470 Mechanical and Upgrade Questions

Did the LX470 ever come with a locking rear diff?
Will a newer speedo cluster fit into a 2000?

I may or may not be missing options but I was wondering what the blank cut out on the lower
center console rear was or could have been? its right above the rear cup holders?

Hypothetically speaking would the newer vvti 4.7 work if ever needed?

And Or would the 5 speed Trans with with my engine or would the combo of both would with my LX470? If so I would assume ecus and such would need to swap over but maybe its not possible at all?

The Current rims and tires are After market 18 inch rims Would it be worth my while going back to the 16 inch stock rims?

What if the average miles able to travel on one tank? Mine is just slightly above 300-325 is that normal? I understand the tires are not helping but what do you guys think?

I have a small miss or it seems like a miss after warmed up is shakes at idle slightly anyone else have this issue? where should i start? No codes or anything runs fine just shakes slightly at idle.

Any nifty tasteful upgrades recommended? Other than the TRD SC i apparently missed out on lol

Thank you all in advance for your help

a good resource on these trucks and where typically most of the owners hangout/post etc is:

http://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/

Just about any question you may have has probably been answered there a few times and searches work great.

to answer a few that I know.

No diff locks on 2000+ as that when the A-Track system replaced the rear diff locks which the 98-99 had as an option due to lack of traction control.

Hypothetically you can fit any engine/trans in any body but the time and cost may make it unfeasible.

If your not a fan of aftermarket wheels you can go to original 16's or any of the stock wheels from the newer 2007+ Tundra/Sequoia fit. I am running 18" turndra alloys wheels with 275/65/18 and its a great fit.

As for the miss, it could be a few things but I would first start with cleaning the throttle body as its simple to do (15 minutes) and are know for getting gummed up over time which can cause idle issues. I do ours every other year. If that does not help then plugs and coils would be what I would look at next.

Thank you very much for your input! I will check a few things out.

The newer cluster will not fit. The early model clusters are very rare. If you have any issues with the cluster operation or lighting let us know, we can help.
