Default HID on lx470 CONFUSED

hello all, been reading all the threads about installing HID to LX470 and got so confused…Do i need to get the retrofit kit or xenon depot kit? i want to do a perfect job and aiming for 4300K.
people say they just drill the plastic cover to feed the wiring but got the square thing and some didn't have that issue, swapping lenses seems more work.

what kind of kit do i need to get for this job?

any help is appreciated.

Go with the morimoto elite kit + tsx-r clear lens from the retrofit source. Once installed you'll be amazed. But you do have to open up your head lights to install the clear lens & grind the squirrel spots. Then cover with foil tape. Do your aiming using the driver side 1st as a guide. Result is an astonishing 75-80% light output. Extreme width. Perfect cutoff line so you blind oncoming. Will post pics later

I used a dremel tool to grind the squirrel spots flushed ( both sides ). Then covered them up with foil tape. I believe the bulb sizes all are the same. I have no problem with walking you thru the process. If you have anymore questions concerning this feel free to give me a hola. My email: silverbullitt.ct@gmail.com

This was the thread and kit i put on my 07 LX470. All went well, quick and easy. I still have the squirrel spotters.

i have been thinking about the retrofit kit it seem they have good quality blast and kit but i am worried about baking the headlight and swap lenses ( might mess it up).
lexbriguy now got me to think of doing the fog light too, looks awesome and bright.

xenondepot vs retrofit source? which one should i go with?

hey maybe three of us can set up a time and meet with sliverbul to help us

and check out my lx (picking it up in couple days)

Baking the headlights won't harm them. Sat mine in the oven on a block of wood for 7-8 mins & they opened up without any problems. Just email me your name & number & we can talk more about it
