Default LX470 AHC/AVS - I think it's only bump adjust, not rebound

Has anyone ever pulled apart / seen the insides of a LX470 damper?

Here is my thinking. The "active" AVS component can only adjust "bump/compression" damping rate and not "rebound" rate.
This is due to two things.

a) The adjustment is on the remote reservoir, not on the shock body. THis replaces the conventional foot valve in a twi tube shock. You can only restrict oil flow as is flows out of the shock body when displaced by the rod. Restricting the return would yeild low pressure and vacuum boil the oil.

b) The shock shaft rod is much smaller than the shock diameter. THis means there is still a conventional shock piston in there with piston orificies doing rebound duty. No electronics to the shock means these are fixed rate, possible with shims for some rate reaction.

Can anyone fill in any more for me? This is all supposition - though I want to increase rear low rate rebound - and I don't think I can.
