Default Something is wrong. Vehicle or battery?

A week ago my less than a year old Odyssey 1700MJT wouldn't start my 2006 LX 470. I jumped the battery and drove to work. The 470 started fine. Later I drove for a few hours and then checked my battery using an electronic Griot's Garage device. The battery is rated at 875CCA and it cranked at 940 but while the green light was on for good battery it also had a yellow light indicating that the battery needed charging. I hooked it up to a charger and overnight the battery showed fully charged.

A few days later I retested with the same result. I don't know why my battery was dead in the first place as nothing was left on but now I was puzzled why it wouldn't fully charge. The battery should read 12.85 fully charged and I was around 12.45. I then ran a check on my alternator with my tester and all was in the green.

Confused, I decided to have it checked with a better tester at Advanced Auto.
Their results mirrored mine:
Good-recharge
voltage 12.25V
Measured CCA 1022
Rated 875

Starter test:
V 10.94V
Time: 703mS

Charging system test:
No load 13.98V Loaded 13.92

Do I have a bad battery that is just so massive that it can still start my vehicle despite being depleted?
I am under full replacement warranty although shipping it back will be costly. What is going on here?

Thanks,
dave

My first suggestion would be to clean the battery cables and battery posts....You failed to mention the age of your battery ...I had the same issue on my 01 lx470 where if failed to crank and had to be jumped..The battery was 4 years old..I had the battery checked and it showed that it was good, but needed to be charged...After running it on the highway for 30 minutes, I had it rechecked....This time, it read bad battery and it needed to be replaced...In my opinion, a charge of 12.45 is not considered depleted, but you could have a battery that is on the verge of failing......Just a note, I always get the best 3 year free replacement, 84 month battery from a local store...ie Sams Club, Advanced or Auto Zone...so replacement is not a problem........Hope this helps

Your charging system and battery is fine. The culprit is something is draining your battery. To do a parasitic draw test, make sure everything is off doors closed, lights off. Get a Multimeter, set it to the 10 amp scale, disconnect the negative cable and hook the meter to the negative cable in series. What is your amp draw? If it is above .070 Amps, start disconnecting fuses and watch for drops and that would be the culprit.
