Urgent: Advice needed for replacing the Nakamichi stereo
Greetings,
I need a quick advice since the seller is waiting on me to respond whether to buy the Nakamichi stereo or not.
I have 2000 LX470 whose CD changer mechanism is broken (cost to replace is ranging from 385 to 485). Now I have 2 options.
1) I found a seller of this stereo unit which he is willing to sell at 350$ which includes the shipping. The unit comes from 1999 Lx470.
Here is the link at ebay

2). I was told that I can install am auxiliary cable into the Stereo Tape and attach my phone to run either Mp3 and CD songs. The sound quality will be the same as running the CD from the actual stereo as it will use car sound system. Now my question is, whether this is a good alternative as it will save me money. How easy is tio attach the auxiallary cable into the tape. Anyone running into issues while doing so.
Please write some pros and cons of these two alternatives(as I have alkready given up on fixing the CD changing mechanism of my current car stereo, not worth it).
Many thanks

Although I have a 2007, I run my mp3's from my iPhone through the tape player and it works fine.
Sound quality is very good, buy not great. Depending upon the quality of the mp3 playing it may have some background hiss.
You have to control the song selection through your mp3 unit not the stereo or steering wheel controls.
For $10 or whatever the cassette adapter costs, this is a great way to go. When I'm driving, I almost exclusively listen to my music this way and have zero complaints.
Definitely try this first.
