FYI to all members;

I just had my 90 k service done which includes timing belt replacement
for $1200 at the local san diego TOYOTA dealer.

LEXUS dealer quoted $2300 for same service!!!WTF

Coincidentally, I was quoted a price of $1800 too replace my a/c compressor at a local Toyota dealer. My local non-dealer mechanic (who I've used for about 10 years) did the complete job, very well, for $700.

Aespea, after having read your post today, i called my local Lexus dealership and asked what the price is for them to do a 90K service. This is what was stated "The 'basic' 90k service runs $369.00. By basic, I mean no timing belt replacement. Lexus recommends timing belt replacement at 6yrs, 90k miles. That brings up the whole service to
about $1225.00

So I am not sure what your dealership was quoting in your $2300 total. Maybe the water pump and other items??

My quote was $2300 for 90K service with timing belt replacement included, from the Lexus Kearny Mesa in San Diego. No mention of water pump , etc. That would be extra.
This the reason for my post so that others are aware of discrepancies even within Lexus itself!
Hopefully others will post their experience with costs for their service and repairs.
