Default LX470 not starting

I have a 2000 lexus lx470 that just stopped starting up. The truck is not communicating with the keys. (The car has electric but doesnt start up). The security light is also blinking. What could the problem be or what can we do?

Does the engine attempt to turn over or do you just hear a "click" sound? If the engine tries to turn over (and you've tried your headlights and they are bright), it's the battery. If you hear a click and don't hear the starter trying to turn over, the starter contacts are worn out (they last around 100K miles depending on the number of start/stop cycles). A new starter is like $250, but you have to pull the intake manifold off and use some special tools to access the inaccessible bolts. If you have the dealer do it, it's around $700 out the door.

The car is cranking fine. The battery is fully charged and the starter is almost brand new.
When i install the key usually the little red car shaped security light stops blinking, but now it looks like it is not accepting the key because that light is still blinking. I have two keys and the same problem with both.

Sounds lke your key has somehow lost its code to talk to the truck. When I bought a replacement key for our LX online from Sewell Lexus, we had the same issue with new "unprogrammed" key. I called my service writer and then took the key and drove the LX, using the wallet key, to the deralership so they could program it. They did it all for free! (probably because I am a great customer)

Are your keys OEM from a Lexus dealer or purchased off Ebay? The only keys I've heard people having problems with are the ones not purchased from a dealer.

Amen to the ebay keys not working. Mine got stuck in the ignition. Dealer had to get it out.
