LX470 new Stereo old amp
After reading most of theses posts, I am a lot clearer in soon installing a new stereo- with the lot!....
My new unit has 5 RCA outs FR,FL,RR,RL & Sub and a built in amp with speakers out....However the way I see it, is- i should ignore the built in amp and connect the RCA outs to the existing Lexus amp?
Does that sound correct...

if you just want to use your old speakers and amps then yes. you will only use the FL, FR, RR and RL as there are only wires for those for the car. Nothing needs to be hooked up separately for the sub, I think it picks up from the rear channel.

ran mine down through the floor sills and the back side plastic moldings and in to the bottom tailgate through the grommet where the wires for the lights run through.

Thanks again..one more question
How did you connect the reverse switch, where did you get the pick up from...Since i have to run a camera cable to rear, i thought it would be easier running an extra wire from the rear tail/ reverse light at the same time, or is there a closer one that is easy to get to??
Thanks

I had heard of poeple picking up the signal from the shifter but didnt feel like taking that apart and like yourself was running the camera wire to the back anyway so just pulled it from the reverse light.

mmmm Just got the stereo out ready to go , and it has 2 Arial plugs???? why is this? one is a smaller type one, does anyone know what its for???
Also there is 7 wires in a brown tube, all match the speaker wires, except i have 2 wiring list both say Front left is purple or Violet, and i dont have a purple or Violet wire in any of the harnesses that went to the radio? its a bit weird that all the speaker wiress are in that one tube except one? as that brown tube has only 7 wires not 8?
someone help me please

I remenber only using one of the antenna cables and leaving the other one alone and all works fine. As far as the speaker wire colors its been so long since I did this I honestly just dont remember.
