Default Steering Noise

I see someone wrote in about a steering squeak when the wheel is activated in and out, (see https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...teering+squeak)

but my noise occurs when the wheel is turned, especially in early morning.

My 2000 LX470 was brought in for service on this 2 times, but it was never fixed. Out of warranty now.

Any solutions. Sounds like I need grease near rear of wheel somewhere? You hear the harsh grinding squeak on first 2-3 revolutions.

Default LX470 Steering Wheel Noise

Greetings from SoCal! I'm new here and I had the same issue. Here are the comments from my service repair work order:

CONCERN: Customer states steering wheel makes noise when turning.
CAUSE: Verified concern. Removed air bag and steering to check clock spring. Found clock spring to be noisy and needs to be replaced. Slight noise still in steering due to steering angle and reluctor wheel.
CORRECTION: Installed new clock spring; noise found to be normal due to age & condition of vehicle.

My comments: Although the main noise is no longer present, there is a slight noise that isn't much to worry about. Better than it was before.
