Default LX470: cigarette lighter not working. Where's the fuse?

The cigarette lighter is not working. I mainly use it to charge my cell phone and it stopped working. I checked the fuse box in the engine bay on the driver's side.

Is there another fuse somewhere to check?

Then I wonder what could have caused it. I was jumping a friend's car and he plugged the jumper cable on the wrong polarity. The LX wasn't on though, so I don't think it should even affect it.

Default Wrong polarity

Whoa! Lucky he didn't do more damage (like blow up your battery) or fry the entire electrical system.

Pass this on to your buddy. Red = Positive, Black = Negative.

the cig lighter has its own fusible link. you'll need to take the unit apart, find the blown part and replace it.

The repair manual says the cig fuse is #8 on the driver side panel. (This is for the 2005 LX 470.) Top row, second from the engine side.

There are actually 3 boxes in the LX (2005 at least). 1. engine, 2. driverside cowl, 3. passenger side cowl. (I think there is a 4th in the engine area if you have the night vision system).

Thanks inahaz. I located the fuse box on the driver's side kick panel. Turned out both the #1 and #1 15A fuses were fried. Replaced those today and both of the cig lighter works.

Default Lighter and Accessory not working

On my 03 GX I did the Modification that makes both port work when the engine is off. I worked for about a week. I read above that the lighter has its own fuse link other than the fuse block. Would that be true for the accessory port as well. Is it as simple as removing and replacing the port units?

Default Gig lighter not working fix

There's a small flip down box next to the drivers steering column that is for placing a garage door opener or small change. This ddoor can be removed by opening and pulling upward off it's hinge. Behind this small door is the third fuse box and contains all the pertainant fuses for the interior. The cig lighter fuse is a 15amp and you will find the location of all the particular fuses printed on the back of the small door. Hope this helps the hundreds of Windom 2001 owners who have had trouble locating the interior fuses.
