I have the Michelin Pilot LTX's now and they are great tires, smooth, wear like iron and good in the snow. I don't/won't do any off road driving with my LX so what do you guys think based on your experience? Replace with 4 new Michelin Pilot LTX's or go up to 285/60/18 and get the Bridgestone Alenza's which are also really well rated. I would have to go to 275/65/18's to put on a set of REVO's and based on my driving needs it would be the wrong tire for me. Any insight would be great.

PS- I've compared these tires on tirerack and the Alenza's are the highest rated but when you look at the write-up's the Michelins get the better reviews which is really confusing . Also I would only need to buy 4 Michelins but if I upsized I would have to buy 5 Alenza's.

I don't know anything about the other tire you're asking about but I've heard nothing but outstanding reviews for the Michelin tires. I wish our 07 had come with them instead of the crappy Dunlops that are on the truck now.

I have the Pilots on my LX and Dunlops on my LS. I'd take the Michelins any day... They are by far the best set of 18" for the LX - quiet and comfortable ride all the way, even if you put the setting in "Sport" mode. BTW, I recently replaced the Dunlops on my LS with Pirellis, and now I'm a happy camper again. Not a fan of Dunlops....

I personally think that the best bang for your buck are the Bridgestone g-Force T/A KDW 2. These tires are amazing and have great reviews.

Michelin just came out with a new tire the AT2 in the 275/65/18 size. Anyone know much about them?

I bought four new Michelin Pilot LTXs from Sam's Club at a cost of 259.04 apiece. I talked with a few mechanics that told me to stay with Michelin for the LX as any other tire will reduce the ride quality. I also have always bought Michelin for my previous vehicles and have never had an issue. I found Sam's Club to be the best price. Good luck!

I put four General Grabber UHP's on my LX. Got them from Tire Rack. Ride is a little more choppy, but wear seems to be good after 1,000 miles on them. Going to have them balanced and rotated when I do oil change next week. Truck handles like a slot car with these tires. I will deal with the somewhat less smooth ride. They are a directional performance tire. So whoever puts them on has to put them on the right way. To balance and rotate them you have to remount them as well. Got all four on for less than $500.00. Can't beat tirerack.com .

There is a big difference in size (diameter) between off road and highway tires in the same size of 285 70 r 18 as much as 2.5 inches.. I'm tempted to buy but I need to be sure they won't rub. Does anyone know?

Your good stock with 275/70/18 Duratechs they are 33" tires and light truck rated. If you go to 295/65/18 Duratech's you might have a little rub at full lock but they are 11.8 inches wide compared to 11 inches wide for the 275/70/18's.
