If the wild wheeling thread on Mud doesn't do it, then you won't be changing over.

my mind is already made up, just waiting to be able to sell the jeep and find the LX! THE funny thing is that before i bought my jeep (02 grand cherokee overland) i was ready to buy a 96 land cruiser with the lockers, very good condition, but i couldn't get a loan on it because i had just sold a camaro ss i had and the loan hadn't been cleared yet. so while i was waiting, another guy came and bought the LC. after that, i couldnt' find one within a reasonable distance, so i spent twice the money on the jeep because i just had to get a rig that i could be comfortable in that would wheel well without spending too much on mods.
i lifted it, put some 31's on it and wheel the hell out of it. it does very well with factory limited slips in front and rear axles and facotry rock rails and skid plates, but it still isn't a toyota!
so once this jeep is paid down a bit more, its ' up for sale and i'm definitely in the market for a locked LC or LX450. i'd rather get the Lx so i can keep the lexus family growing; plus i love to freak people out by wheeling something they never would even take on a gravel road...

Man, my dad has a 1st Gen LX and it does nothing but sit in the garage or go to the local VFW and coffee shop! I have been trying to get him to mod it for years! The vehicle is very capable of some crazy stuff! Hats off to all your LX owners taking your rides off-road!

Hi,
I'm a newbie to the Forum but thought I'd add some photos of my LX470 in the Australian Outback. I have a 2000 model with 275,000kms on the clock. It's done about 100,000km off road towing our caravan which weighs about 3 tons. Still on stock standard suspension and only failure to date has been one coil pack! last trip involved 3 days travelling over 1600 kilometres of corrugated dirt road - Lexus suspension rules!!

^^^^^^ THAT IS SICK well not the caravan haha, but your truck looks great, I am guessing there is a lot of aftermarket support for landcruisers and lx470's where you are. And yes the lx can be pretty much bulletproof
