Steering Wheel making noise
#2
What kind of noise? How is the power steering fluid level? Is the fluid all burned smellling and dark? If you need to add fluid, use auto transmission fluid for dextron II or dextron III applications. DO NOT use "power steering" fluid. It's a poor-man's version of ATF and has caused leaks in Toyota steering systems where there were no leaks before. Domestic-made PS fluid is completely different from the made-in-Japan factory fluid.
My PS fluid was dark and burned smelling at 50K mi, plastic resevoir is stained. I flushed it many times using a turkey baster and replenished it w/ Redline ATF w/ Dextron II. If you want to go cheap, the chevron ATF w/ dextron III/mercon should do. System capacity is like 2 qts. Unless you do a full flush by removing the hoses, you'll need quite a bit more. The capacity of that plastic resevoir is around 10-12 oz. I figured that if I siphon the fluid out of that about 6 times (driving in between, of course), it'll replace like 95% of the fluid.
