something like this? I reused the original radios mounting bracket and just cut a custom fit shroud out to fill in the gap. Couldnt find any "Kits" like they sell for dodges and jeeps and stuff.

That's cool. Did any of you have the Nakamichi system? If so, did you have to replace all of the factory speakers and amp. I was told this was necessary to intall an aftermarket radio. Also can anyone direct me to where to purchase the materials so that can have a shroud made for my vehicle?

I just had the stereo redone in my GS4. I can imagine the exercise will be the same:
• bypass the existing pre-amped head unit
• drop a new head unit in with new wiring (high powered head unit)
• connect the existing speakers to the new unit
• add a sub/amp for the rear
I wanted to replace the speakers in my GS too but the installer indicated that it would be fairly major surgery b/c of the nature of the speaker/tweeter set-up. It worked out great though, since the speakers actually sounded really good with the new unit.
I guess i'll end up having to have them do a custom fab for the dash cover though (sigh)

No, we didn't spring for the navigation. We mainly wanted it for the ipod interface and bluetooth. Just got back from a 1800 mile roadtrip and the LX is such an awesome roadtrip car. It was really nice having all our music on the ipod and running thru the Pioneer.
