Changing out the parking lights/brake lights
Hi all,
Have a 1999 LX 470-that just needs one of the brake lights, and the one of the parking lights on the front passenger side, changed out. I bought, I believe the correct bulbs-but how the heck do I get to the parking light bulbs? Doesn't seem to be any screws in front, and same goes for the lens on the rear-no easy access to the lights that on the outside of the hatch....Is a guide somewhere?
Thanks

front parking lights:
1. open hood
2. theres one screw holding it in, remove it
3. Pry/Pull....FOWARD of the vehicle and it will pop out
4. You will then have access to the 194 bulb connector
5. reverse steps to put back in
rear OUTER brake/tail lights and turn signals
1. Open upper and lower tailgates
2. There are two torex/Flathead screws holding the lens in from where the lower tailgate closes...remove them
3. Pull tailight out towards the sides of the car. I like to just hold the lens with one hand and tap the little lip that goes over the body on the inner tailgate area with my palm and pop it out.
4. That will give you access to the bulbs
5. reverse steps to put back in
Rear INNER brake/tail and reverse lights
1. Open both up and lower tailgates
2. Carefully pry off the carpeting from the lower tailgate, be sure not to tear the material holding in the clips, its ver flimsy.
3 There are 3 screws holding a plate in covering the bulb housing on each side, remove desired and replace.
Note: when replacing inner tailgate bulbs, i replace everything just incase so i dont have to keep pulling the carpeting off for the next bulb that blows.
4 reverse steps to put back in
I hope this helps you somehow, if not....i hope the next more knowledgeable member can support you better.

Thanks!!!
Wow, thanks for the quick response. I will give it a shot. Question though, the screw holding in the front parking lights-is it on top? I seem to remember a few screws-but than again, it could just be me...
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Funny thing is, none of this info is in my '03 LX factory manuals (I have vol 1, 2, and electrical). IIRC, Vol 2 just shows the tail lights, but not where the screws are. Did you just experiment and figure it out?
