Steering column noise ???
#2
Is the noise occuring when the steering column telescopes in and out (when you insert key or remove)? If so there is a TSB (Technical service bulliten) that explains the problem and a fix for it (The lexus dealer will no about this if you mention to them that there is a TSB detailing the problem, the VIN numbers that are affected and the fix). It is a warreentee fix. I cannot remember the website address exactly, but the national department of transport has a website listing all recalls, TSB etc, and you may find some other problems that have a fix as well.
I was having a rear brake squeal for ove a year and every time I took it in for service they woud tell me nothing was wrong, but then I found a TSB for rear break squeal, and when I pointed it out to them they fixed the problem. You figure they should know about these things but they do not.

It happens when I spin the wheel to the left and right. It does it more often when it is cold. Dealer had no idea, he is going to tear the column apart at time and material.
