Default LX 470 Speed related noise

Just bought 2005 LX 470. Have noticed annoying roaring engine noise/vibration when driving around 50-55 mph. Seems to disappear around 60mph. I am first time Lexus owner and was not expecting this. Dealer says there are no engine/tire problems this is normal! Have any other LX owners noticed anything like this.

The only similar complaint I have is a vibration...but it is RPM related, rather than speed related. Lexus doesnt know what it is.

have the same roaring/engine noise on the 01 LX. Same thing about the rpm related vibration.
Took it to the dealer a couple of times but they reply back saying they can't find anything wrong with it !

We have an appointment to take the car back in to the Service Center next week to get it checked by a visiting company service technician. The local tech admits to hearing the noise, but seems not to know what it is. Said that maybe we are hearing this because you don't hear all the road and wind noise! Don't think it is just speed related as also hear and feel the humming and vibration at idle. My husband says maybe it is a "harmonics" problem. We are really disappointed as we had a 99 Toyota 4-Runner Limited that we never had any problems with and never even considered we would have problems with a Lexus.

Just FYI: There is a TSB(Technical Service Bulletin) for a booming noise from the exhaust system heard inside the cabin at idle. It seems mine is loud both at idle and at the same speed you mention, so this may be related.

Unhappy

Thanks for the replies. Tomorrow is the day that our LX will get checked out again by several of the Lexus service techs. They admit they can hear the droning vibration. I got stuck in traffic taking it down there and the reverberation in my ears at idle was driving me nuts! Hopefully, there is something that can be done. I will post the results.
