Default oil drain plug cover.

hey i was wondering where i can get a replacment of the cover. You know the plastic cover that goes over the engine drain plug. Some *** cracked mine and it has oil all over it. Is there a reputable site that sells replacments?

thanks

dude...I don't even know what you're talking about...
but then again, you have to remember that I drive an unrefined LX 450
no plastic covers.

It is part of the skid plate that protects the underside of the vehicle while ofroading. The dealership parts dept. should be able to find the part based on your description. I cannot see the part being more that $100 but then again lexus parts are high priced.

I would try a toyota dealer and you may want to make sure that they know that you just need the small cover and not the whole skid plate( that is if they just sell the small cover)

what you mean by just the small cover. There is a small cover you take off to get to the oil filter, thats not what i need. I need the fairly large platic panel that covers the oil drain plug. And i assuming that the landcruiser doesnt have this or do they?

I change my oil all the time and I have to remove two small covers: one for the oil filter and one for the oil pan so that i can access the drain plug. The "little" door that I am referring too and i assumed that you needed is only about 3"x5" and has to be removed to access the oil pan and oil plug. If you need the entire plastic skid plate than i am not suprised that it is $400. the landcruiser does indeed have this exact same part and i am willing to bet that it is chaper through a Toyota dealer.
