Default Brakes bled now HELP

Put new Pads, Front and Rear, into the 2003MY Lx470 Today.

Bled the system, making sure Brake Fluid never got under the Min level. Bled with the Engine running. Finished all 4 wheels Far back, near back, far front, near front. No leaks.

Brake warning light now on continously, Pedal is spongy then gets firm then all of a sudden goes soft, the ABS warning light comes on, the VSC TRC and the VSC OFF warning lights come on and the audible warning starts.

Any ideas?

There is some air in the brake lines. You will have to re-bleed.

As I thought you were right

Turns out that at the end of a long afternoon of jacking the vehicle, taking the wheels of and replacing the pad I neglected to notice that the Front Bleed points are very coarse compared to the rear ones.

This make it very easy, when using a One Man Bleeder Kit, to miss that air can reenter via the screw thread of the Bleed point thus bypassing the one way valve. Just a tad of too much looseness is all it takes

So, after rebleeding from the Far right I finally got all the air out of just the front ones. Anyone want a few gallons of slightly used Brake Fluid

BTW it is important to have the ignition turned on to keep the Brake Assist resvoir full. The Engine does not need to be running.

Glad you got it where you want it to be. Would u be interested in writing a LX 470 brake write-up so other members could use as a blueprint?

I actually used this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/pri...hreadid=117244 as the basis and have already linked my (this) post at the end as an FYI.

As I did not take pictures, maybe the original author of the Thread I used would be a better one to ask to update their thread for use as you suggested. Let me know.
