Question Prices And Buying Experience 04 Lx

Hello LX owners/enthusiasts:
I am a merely a visitor to this site but a regular on the GX forums since I own a 04 GX (which I love by the way) My folks own a 2001 LX fully loaded and would like to trade in for a 2004 LX with all options except RES. I am offering to do some research for them and would really appreciate some feedback on typical pricing for the 2004 LX. I would also be interested to know what y'all think their 2001 Black LX is worth, both in trade and to sell outright. It has 51,XXX miles on it and is in very good condition. Title is clean.
Please help my folks get a good deal, information is the best weapon in the war against dealership gouging!! Thanks in advance.

I found one (2004) at JM Lexus that had everything except the RES and night view for $61,112. They had a 2004 demo with 150 miles on it they would sell for $59,900. I am buying a 2005 with everything on it. MSRP was $72,777 and I'm getting it for $66K from Scholfield Lexus in Kansas. Hope that info helps. I don't have any idea on the 2001, but look at edmunds.com or kellybluebook.com and that should help. They really hold their value. I sold my 2000 LX with 91K on it for $28,200 about 5 months ago. I was pleased with that price, but I've heard of similar LXs doing better than that. Take care.

Doc C,
What did you put on the LX to get the price so high? When I build it on the Lexus website, I only get up to $69,700. Did you add DVD and other stuff?

I had DVD rear entertainment, rear spoiler, night view, XM radio. I think that's it. It has every available option. I plan on keeping it for awhile and wanted all there was to have on one. Thanks.
