Questions From a New 2017 LX 570 Owner

I think it all has to do with that local Lexus dealer. Meaning if they only see one or two LX570 every now and then (or FULL "F" model as in RCF OR ISF OR LFA), they would not READILY KNOW really what EXACTLY to do. Case in point when I had my RCF serviced at a "small" Lexus dealer for routine 10k mile service, THE LEXUS DEALER OVERFILLED the engine oil crank case by over an inch and half!!! When I returned to get it drained, they said they CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!!! I OPENED THE HOOD AND INVITED THEIR SO CALLED MATER TECH TO COME OUT AND LOOK. Sure enough it was way OVERFILLED!!! I guess if I were in an ES350 or RX350, it would have been ok? IDK. I said to them, does anyone check the dipstick after you fill up with oil? Did you guys even put in the right oil since the RCF calls for 5W20 and NOT THE USUAL 0W40. THEY ASSURED ME YES.
Try not to hold your breathe too long. Lexus dealers continue to surprise me about how much they do not know about the cars they service. People on this forum know more than 4 Lexus service managers at 2 Lexus dealers I have visited. Lexus Corporate relies on the local service managers to address any technical issues. Corporate listens to your complaints, passes them to management, and you hope they do something about it. It's a crazy setup in my opinion, but it works for them.
