AHC Behavior at Off Ramps
A curiosity I've always noticed, that you guys perhaps can shed some light on.
As I understand it, AHC will lower the ride height at freeway speeds to optimize aerodynamics. When coming to a stop at off-ramps, I will frequently notice it adjusting back. Though what I feel is that the back axle is lowering? I would expect both axles to lift. Perhaps it is doing that, but my perception is that the back-end lowers.
Thoughts?

Not sure what is moving but it is very normal to move back to the non-highway speed position when off ramping.

It may be that what you are feeling is the driveshaft spline slipping, or binding and slipping. This was a problem with both my GX and my 2nd generation LX, and I've also noticed it on my 3rd generation LX. Toyota TSB's addressed it by shortening the driveshaft lube intervals, and on my older LX the driveshaft was actually replaced under warranty when lubing didn't help. The splines allow the driveshaft length to shorten when decelerating or stopping, and then at some point the shaft slides back. In my older GX and LX it resulted in a sudden clunking noise as the back end squatted back down to level. I feel the same thing in the new LX, just without the clunk noise. As the back end goes down to level, it can feel the opposite, like the front end is rising.
The AHC adjustment of ride height at highway speed is less one inch, front and rear. I may be wrong about this part, so consider it as an alternative fact if you find better information.

I am pretty sure it is the AHC adjusting from highway speeds. Feel it almost every time I leave the highway.
