2018

I have been confused with Lexus product life cycle. In 2013, Lexus said the LS was a new model, but to me it looks like an LCI from the previous year. A new LS is slated for 2018. My guess would be that if the LX was an "LCI" then a brand new model for the LX would be in MY2021.
I suspect that if Lexus knows how to build FI engines like MB (unlike Audi and BMW), they will offer turbocharged engines for both v8 and v6 with the turbo engines coming out on the LX before the 2021 model year.

The current LS is produced from 2007. It was just redesigned in 2013. I don't think that Lexus ever said that it's a new model. Maybe some dealers said it to their customers but it's not true. New LS should be introduced this month in Detroit as 2018 model and probably will be available in summer. I also expect new LX quite late, probably 2020 or 2021. And still there is a question. Maybe there will not be any new LX, just Land Cruiser and unfortunately, LX would be replaced with something different, more on-road than off-road vehicle. There is a similar problem with the current generation of Toyota Sequoia. It was introduced in 2008 and no one knows if there would be a new model. Maybe not. It was not even redesigned.

I think that is how automakers sell old designs. The LX will likely continue in the segment of the G wagon (MB) instead of the GLS or X5 (BMW). The key word here is luxury off road. The price tag will continue to climb as they always do.

I'd tend to look at the new LC for what's coming to the LX.

new generation LC is not here yet or did i miss something? I believe too lexus is gearing next LX to more onroad than offroad use, but i doubt they make it a unibody.

A unibody would definitely put a wall between Cruisers and LX's, The current MY LX is definitely suited for more on than off road...Approach angles, OEM wheel size, etc.
