LX console trim - leather or vinyl?
Gang,
My old LS with custom luxury package had a leather wrapped console and lower dash. Can anyone confirm if the console in the LX is leather? It seems more like vinyl to me. I am looking at a gorgeous '13 with every option but I am pretty **** about my leather. Full leather is a big deal to me.
Thanks,
Keith

Sounds like you should move on as there are many surfaces in the LX that are not leather.
Not so **** here. If it looks good and feels good, I am happy.

Get into a BMW or MB if you want extra leathers. Lexus seems to be frugal with the material. Even the shifter is not made of leather or the chair surface that does not typically touch your body. Nothing wrong with that, but for 80K+ car, I would like a little more leather.

I do not believe the backs of the seats are leather. Most leather is in areas of driver and passenger contact. Other than seat faces, door handles/arm rests, steering wheel, shifter and top of center console, the rest is vinyl.

The part that covers the shifter stick is vinyl. I hope that these are new updated vinyls will last as long as the leather. That's one good thing about technology. The new synthetic material will sometimes outlast the real leather stuff. It just doesn't look very "leather."
Some years ago, the LS430 used to have "Coach" leather. The leathers were thick and nice.

No doubt without any care the vinyl will last longer.

I have a 2013 LX570 and I don't think the console is leather. It really does not matter to me bc it all looks good. Mine is "beige" interior and white exterior. I liked the combo and was loaded, including PCS. I guess it was a rare combo for the West Coast as it took me around a year to locate mine when I was looking.

Just a follow up.... I chose to overlook the few spots with vinyl. It is a shame that a vehicle which stickers in the 80s - 90s isn't 100% but I guess it is just a sign of the times. Anyone have any good advice on leather conditioner? I used leather in a bottle which is what I always used on my LS however this left my seats shiny as hell. Looked horrible.
Thanks!
Thanks!
