Default Has anyone installed OEM glass breakage sensor and remote start?

Hello all, I am currently looking at buying a 2013 LX and was wondering if anyone has installed the OEM glass breakage sensor and remote start after purchasing the LX. Is it a DIY job? I do most of the maintenance and mods on my cars, so just wanted to see if this was something I could do without needing a specialized factory tool or program. Thanks in advance!

I had both options on 2010LX. However, I found both features worthless.

The remote start is truly worthless as it turns off the vehicle as soon as you open the door, same on the LC. So you start the vehicle twice instead of once.

Thanks OP for posting the question.

Specifically, what about glass break sensor? I purchased a used 2010 LX, and I am not sure if this option was installed. If not, I would like to add the glass break sensor. Is there a module that I can look for to check if I have this option (breaking the glass to verify is not an option!)

My previous Lexus was broken into in my driveway (smashed the passenger rear window) and the inside of my car was cleaned out. If I had the glass break sensor, then I would have been alerted to what was going down and might have had the opportunity to introduce the intruder to my baseball bat.

Has someone done this install? Can anyone offer advise? Thanks!

Thank you both for the info. Sounds like aftermarket remote start is the way to go.

Glass breakage sensor circuit here... http://moranbahweather.com/toyota/re...0215l006x.html

My '13 Land Cruiser came with the breakage sensor and remote starting.

The truck does shut off when you open the door, but starting it 10 minutes before leaving on a day in the 90's makes starting it a second time a better choice.
