Funny noise in AHC

Do you mind if I ask what you do for a living to afford a new LX every few years? I'm just a humble lux car salesman.
My three guesses: Lawyer, Consultant, or Doctor.

Let just say my company is doing great. I have worked hard and took over the small family business that was making very little, less than 125K in total sales per year and with hard work does 50X that. It was not easy and I have sacrificed much for it's success. It allows me the luxury to trade in every 12-18 months and maintain a pretty large fishing vessel. Being now single, these two things take top priority in my life.

Separately, the noises from the rear of the vehicle can be from the AHC or also from the EVAP system. In either case, entirely normal. From the description (and timing), chances are it's the AHC as suggested here.
In principle, I can agree on wear considerations, especially for things like - say - the auto folding mirrors. They do loosen up (increased backlash in the plastic gearing) and can begin to sound like crap as they fold/unfold. However, when it comes to the AHC system specifically, we are talking about a marginal amount of cycling and loading on the system that's introduced by the easy exit feature, relative to what the system is designed for and does all the time leveling this monster as you drive (usually without noticing). So, to each their own, but we leave ours on (helps when loading a couple infants over the years...), and I don't believe you're significantly prolonging the life of the system by turning "easy exit" off.

my 2010 LX has always had the auto lowering feature ON, and I love it. The noise is normal. No issues with suspension after 140K miles! So feel free to auto lower your car to your hart's content.
