I have not driven the LC and just LX. Took leap of faith. The LC is still on the ship and is scheduled to arrive on 24th. For sure GX seems more nimble when turning. LC may give a better experience as it comes with KDSS. I had previously 4runner with it and made a huge difference when comparing to one without KDSS.

The 2015 LX and the 2015 LC are BOTH being heavily discounted due to the new 2016 models hitting the showroom floors right now. I am seeing LXs with MSRPs of $93k ADVERTISED for about $86k. With a bit of negotiation, you can likely snag a left-over 2015 LX for approximately $80k. This lines up perfectly with KBBs fair purchase price estimates. I live in an area where local dealers have plenty stock of left-over 2015 LXs (5+ per dealer). Personally, I plan on waiting longer until dealers get very desperate to move their old stock. I'd love a 2016, but heavily discounted pricing doesn't seem likely until at least a year or two out. Still undecided if it would be worth it to wait until then.

in my area 2015 LX have been in the low 80s (msrp low 90s) for a while, and i see quite some inventory too (not as many as it's over there it seems), i wonder how that will play out. new 16 msrp 97k, if one can get a new 15 for 80k or slightly below, i think that's pretty big deal and can help compensate on the resale few years down the road.
on the other hand used 14 and 15 are taking serious bath here...

One local dealer took my offer of $500/invoice but since they didn't have an allocation, they tried to find one. As soon as I have found another one with the allocation for a little more I have jumped on it which was $1000/invoice. A little homework and few e-mails and can be easily done. Normally I am hitting all dealers within 100-200 mile radius.

LC's selling for a sticker too, but there are few dealers that are willing to negotiate. I hit dealers through internet department as soon as I see allocation for their dealership (cars in route). I am in Toyota's Southeast region so you can see at this web site what is coming in and what config.

I think the 2016 will be selling close to invoice midway through 2016. Once the 2015s are cleared, the dealers will start dealing on the 2016s.

I completely agree with your strategy of shopping in a broader area than just your local dealers. However, I think negotiating relative to X amount OVER invoice pricing may not be the best method here since it seems like some prices we've discussed here actually come out to UNDER invoice pricing. Buying a 2015 LX for $80k would actually be under invoice pricing.

Oh, I misunderstood, I thought you were referring to a left-over 2015, not a new 2016.
