Default So I brought my 2015 LX570 in for it's 10k today

And they gave me this for the day!

LOL! I asked if they had an RC as a joke instead of the usual RX and he laughed at me. Another service tech came and whispered something to my rep and he said he would be right back. When he returned he handed me the keys to what I thought would be a RX and this was sitting under the portico for ME with only 200 miles on it!

I hate getting in and out as it is just plain to low. BUT does it corner and accelerate! As much fun as it is I will be glad to get back to my large black lumbering tank! I know I am in trouble when I am looking up to people driving a Honda Accord!

He said the LX will get "the" major update in 2018!

The big facelift is coming in a couple of months, no doubt about it.

Not talking about a "facelift"

I have seen several LX "facelifts" and owned 4 different LX570 units.

I am talking about the entire redesign of the LX where the telematics will be brought up to date and equal to the latest Lexus vehicles.

You are describing the 2016 Lexus LX, not a new generation but a heavy refresh which includes the 8 speed transmission and color HUD.

The next next LX all new from the ground up could be due in 3/4 years similar to how the LS got a heavy refresh for MY2013 and next gen is due for MY2017

Hep, I found out that my salesperson who has sold me multiple vehicles helped get the RC for the day. The telematics was way advanced and makes me want one but getting in and out was a pain in the butt. Also much more road noise than my LX but when you punched it or took a hard turn . . . Speechless!

Anyway back to reality and still love my new LX.

I can imagine it was a lot of fun to drive that thing for a day. Polar opposite from what you are used to. I might have taken a day off work to go play in it.

No doubt it drove different. Reminded me of my motorcycle days where you had the power and agility to play in traffic. No a good thing for some.

What impressed me the most is the advanced telematics. It is way ahead of the LX. Nice to have blind spot indicators and I love how you adjusted the cabin temp. Instead of a **** you slid your finger back and forth to change. Still hate not being able to touch the screen for things like putting in street addresses. The small haptic pad is still a great improvement over the little mouse thing they have in the RX units.

Getting in and out is . . . . Well it takes some getting used to but the cornering ability is just plain fun.

Still it was nice to be back in the LX which has a more substantial feel moving down the road. You just plain feel safer and protected.

I was somewhat surprised that they put Dino oil in my beast instead of synthetic. Will be getting it changed every 5k anyway.

Have a good weekend everyone!

They should have used 0w20 toyota synthetic. I would have them fix that even if you plan on changing every 5k miles. In my 2011 Lexus gave the option of 5w20 dino or 0w20 synthetic. In 2013-2015 Lexus required 0w20. Even states if 0w20 is not available and you have to use 5w20 dino you need to change back to 0w20 within 5 k miles. I would of expected better from you Lexus dealer. My dealer states that they have never used 5w20 in a LX since the 2013's came out no matter what year LX 570. Per my customer records the original selling dealer used 0w20 from the 1st oil change. The Toyota dealer I bought mine from used put 5w20 in, I changed it to 0w20 as soon as I bought it. So it was not in their over 400 miles.

Maybe I am reading the invoices wrong, as it says:

8 00289 - 1QT0W - 48 0W20 M OIL-MIN 48 CS

I see it was 8 quarts the rest is Greek to me. The reason I questioned it is that they put one of those change oil stickers in 5K on the windscreen corner. Maybe that was just to remind me to return in 5K.

Dino or Syn?

UPDATE: I did some research and the 0W20 is without a doubt full synthetic. The sticker on the window said the change the oil in 5K but I called my Lexus Service Rep and he said it was just to remind me to return in 5K. All is OK. How could one forget to return in 5K with the reminders built into the vehicle nav screen

Looks like you got 0w20 toyota synthetic, think your right they know you change every 5k. Based on how long you keep a LX someone is going to get a nice vehicle

I will be keeping this one a little longer but then I have said that before. After driving the RC I hunger for the updated telematics but the LX sees no love from Lexus. I still prefer the "heavy ride" over light and fast but it was a nice change for the day! Maybe time to get the new crotch rocket motocycle!

I know how you feel going from an LX to smaller car. It sure feels weird but once you get in a lower ingress vehicle all is ok. I have a corvette as a fun car and after riding in the LX getting in the corvette seems weird and my rear seems to drag the pavement- until I press the throttle

then I don't think about the LX at all

I had the privilege of owning a 67 Vette for 3 years. Life was good but on the edge and I decided to sell it. There are still days of regret.
