I finally have the itch to get a newer LX and wanted to find out a couple of things from current and former owners. I realize it's still anonymous here pretty much, but random reviews on a car web site impress me even less.

LOVED and love my 470, but my old back could use some new seats and the current 470 is going to need more $ put in it than it's worth. So, here is my list of things I'm hoping to get. Was thinking maybe the last year of the 470 or an '08-'09 570.

1. Would really like to have an in dash nav system.
2. Definitely want to have bluetooth audti/phone
3. Gas mileage is not a big deal it is what it is with these hogs....not good.
4. Seats...have always loved Lex seats and am making the assumption they have not gone backwards in quality?5.
5. Are there/were there any gremlins with the first couple of years of 570's? My 470 has been extremely reliable and just loved it, but ready for a new car.

I can speak on our 2008 LX570. We acquired it new as a lease, but after the lease ended, we liked it so much we decided to purchase it rather than returning or swapping for a new one. It currently has 115k miles and I'll try to add my thoughts on your list.

1. In-dash Nav is practically useless due to the nanny programming that limits functions unless you use the voice command or come to a standstill. Nowadays phone-app navigation is ahead of the curve of even current '15MY vehicles. Long story short: get a good smart phone holder and use that if you want a good navi system.
2. No bluetooth audio on 08-09. Personally, I don't feel the need due to the aux cable being good enough substitute. Bluetooth use of your phone is useless as, again, the nanny programming does not allow you to dial while the car is moving. Stupid idea as dialing on the screen would be much safer than fumbling for your phone while driving...
3. Gas mileage is, as expected. However, he fuel tank is relatively small and combined with the fuel economy a 3-ton V-8 vehicle has, you will be pumping fuel relatively often.
4. Seats are comfy overall. Mine have worn a little, particularly on the lower seat pad due to the ingress-egress over the years and miles.
5. Ours was a late-production '09. No gremlins to speak of over 115k miles. I bought the extended warranty before the 50k ran out and had, maybe, $300 worth of out-of-warranty repairs which were related to the door hinges. YMMV, though.

My major gripes are the range and the nanny programming of the electronics which renders them useless if you are moving. I believe there is an aftermarket solution, but I just learned to live with it.

Other than this, we LOVE the vehicle and have no intention of ever selling it. We have adhered to scheduled maintenance and I believe this is why it still drives as good as the day we bought it.

I loved my 470 too. Older 570's are a good buy if they were taken care of.

I drove my 470 for 11 years before I purchased the'14 570. Loved that 470 and it just fit me-never had a mechanical problem in 11 years. It took me a while to get used to the seats in the 570 but now after about 3 months I really like them. To me the 570 is quieter and I like the new technology, but it is not 11 year's refinement from the 470.

Since I bought new I can't comment on your questions about older models but someone will chime in. Good luck on your quest

Bought a new '11 570 after getting rid of my 470. The 570 has had far fewer problems than the 470 did and it didn't have many.

I never liked the seats in either truck. I just don't get the support and comfort that I want and need since a stroke, but my wife loves the seats. They just don't fit me.

I just bought an Audi S8 for road trips. It is much more comfortable for me, but we kept the 570 primarily for my wife and the fact that I expect it to continue with few to no mechanical issues.

The Lexus in-car navigation is among the worst in my opinion.

You must be a big boy, I weigh 235 lbs and I think they feel great. Does the S8 have more room adjustment? What do you think is causing the difference?

Funny how some people like and dislike as my LX570 seats are the best of the best and I have had many different vehicles to compare it too, include the ML350 and Cayanne S Turbo. The LX seats are the first that have adjusted where I can ride for long periods of time in comfort.

The NAV system is still prefered over any vehicle I have owned though I admit that it is not perfect. It has improved with each year.
