Default DVD not playing

I just bought a 2010 LX and tonight i discovered that I may be able to play a digit copy DVD. So, the kids jumped in the car and inserted one of their movies(not BluRay) and w can only hear it. All we see in the video box is a blue screen.
Any suggestions?

Put it in park with the parking brake on.

That did it. Thanks. However, I need to find a bypass so my kids can watch a movie while driving like in my other cars. Disclaimer: I do not watch the movies while driving.

There are work arounds on this. I drive an Infiniti and have the same issue. Not that I want to watch a movie, but for the grand kids. It's called distracted driving. The parking brake provides a ground and that's what allows the picture to display to the screen. Some have added a switch so when it goes through inspection or if pulled over you can switch it back to the normal position. A word of caution is while driving at night it's a neon sign that you have it disabled and could be ticketed. The cops have cameras too now and are real eager to give tickets out.

We currently have a group buy going on to allow for the bypass feature that you are looking for.

Thanks, I see they make one for Infiniti as well! Great to know there is a kit vs. hacking the wire harness.
