Just traded my 11 for a 13 LX570. This is my 3rd 570 and each has been an improvement over the last

Congratulations! Time to update your signature And post pictures!

I hate to ask, but in terms of the upgrade, what ballpark cost are we talking about, if you don't mind?

Congrats.

Besides the cosmetic changes, what do you like from a feature/drivability standpoint?

Thanks.

I have purchased many new Lexus since the late 90's for myself and family members. All purchases were made at same dealership and I think the pricing is fair. I do not shop other dealers or try to beat down the price once I get a number that seems fair to me. The dealership always takes care of any problems that I think I have with the car--they go out of their way to keep me happy and i want them to make a profit and stay in business, so they can continue to serve ME!
That is how I feel about what I paid. The MSRP on my new car is $89,748.00 and I added chrome wheels and tint.
I have less than one hundred miles on the car now. Will post more after I drive it a while.

That makes sense - nothing like having a good, long-time relationship with the same dealership.

To clarify, I was asking not specifically about the price you paid for the new LX, whether you got a good deal, etc., but rather, because you traded-in a 2011 LX, I am legitimately curious about what the ballpark cost was for the upgrade.

In essence, I know what all the book values are, etc., but haven't met anyone who has done this and has shared actual figures, and quite frankly, I've been afraid to ask at my dealership! So, I'm more intrigued by the trade-in side of the transaction.

Has the ride changed? Does it handle bumpy roads differently? What I wonder is have they re tuned the suspension?
Thanks
John

Now that I have approximately 1200 miles on the 13 LX it appears that Lexus has made many improvements. The 13 model seems quieter, tighter and the seat even seems more comfortable.
Love the LEDs, more chrome around rear side windows and rear bumper. Nav system is improved and now LX comes with HD Radio. Rear entertainment on headrests is a nice feature, but I have a hard time watching while driving!

Do you think they have changed the suspension programing so that the lx is not quite as jumpy on rough roads?

I seldom drive on rough or unpaved roads, so I have never noticed jumping around as you mentioned. This 13 does appear to have a smooth ride.

I do have the Cool Box on my LX 570. I loved the space I had to store things in my LX470. That said although I miss the space I had in Summer, I do love keeping sandwiches and drinks cold in the summer months. In the winter, I just use it for storage as I did in the 470 as drinks stay Ice Cold in my car during the winter months. Northern Idaho gets very cold...

Best, T

You got $4500 off MSRP on a 2013? That may be a record discount, this early in the model year. Congrats!

Yeah, at first I told them $5k off, and I told them I don't have time to play game, I want a real deal, and I don't have time to go back a forth, and later of the day, they called me to come to dealer and have a good new, when I showed up they have all the paper is ready for me, and when I get there, they said they can give me $4500 off because I am preferred customer and they need to sell 60 cars of each month and it happen when I looked at the end of the month

Just got my first Lexus, but have had Landcruisers for 30 years, and over 500,000 collective miles. Had a fellow in a Ford F-150 run a stop sign, and get plowed by my '83 FJ-60. His poor truck was totaled, and the engine and tranny went almost into the rear bed. The frame, such as it was, split completely, though luckily he only had light lacerations, as his windshield exploded.

After the police recorded the accident, I took my tire iron, and pried my front bumper away from the tire, then drove home. I had about US $ 900 in damage, but when they did a laser survey of the frame and front axle, wall was perfect.

That same unit was rammed from behind by a very large, older Cadillac. The car was ruined, and the driver and front seat passenger injured. I had a stiff neck, and a dent in the rear bumper, but nothing else.

There is no substitute for good steel - oh, and now air bags!
