Default Michelin Tire Pressure

Just picked up my 2010 LX570 last night. It was a special order (only way to get the pre-collision system) and took forever but it's finally here. I was happy to see it came with the Michelins. The dealership has them at 38 psi but my experience with our GX and GS is that the dealers almost always over-inflate the tires. What have the Michelin owners been running them at?

That sounds about right. Best is to go by the numbers inside the driver door jam.

ERC4, glad you've got your answer.

I was wondering, how much did you wait after pre-ordering from the dealer?

Default Special Ordering Ordeal

Ige,

It should take 3 months. "Should" being the operative word. My ordeal took 10 months from my initial order/deposit in August of 2009. The first dealer Park Place Lexus Mission Viejo was an absolute crook. Search Park Place Lexus Mission Viejo in the Southern California forum for my post with details. Took 4 months to figure out that they sold the truck I had been waiting for to someone else for a higher price and they were absolute scum to deal with. Lexus corporate was zero help. So I reordered with Lexus Carlsbad in December. Stayed in touch with my sales guy to monitor the status. At the 2 3/4 month mark the sales guy tells me it's on the boat, it'll be in your hands in a few days. I call in a few days to see where my truck is and the sales manager tells me that he didn't know the special order LX was mine (despite my deposit, etc) and he accidently traded it to another dealer and it's gone. Yeah right. To make matters worse, based on the sales guy saying I'd have it in a few days I ran an ad for the Sienna we were getting rid of. Damn thing sold in 24 hours! I stayed very professional with the sales manager but told him he's putting me in an RX350 loaner for 3 months or as long as it takes for us to reorder the LX and get it in my hands. He agreed and I picked up the RX that night. I also asked him what price concession he was going to give me but he said "enjoy the loaner and we'll talk about it later". I drove off figuring this guy was going to go right back into sales mode and try to work me for as little of a concession as I'd take. I was right. He went right back to trying to maximize his profit on the truck. Considering the circumstances and some lies I caught him in I got tired of his BS and went to the General Manager. I explained in great detail exactly what happened and said that I wanted the $86,250 truck at Edmunds invoice of $76,050 and he agreed. That was in March. Took 3 months till I picked it up Tuesday afternoon. Bottom-line is that the deposit is meaningless. There's nothing you can do to keep them from selling it to somebody who cruises in at the 11th hour with more money. I probably won't special order another vehicle again. In the end I had an RX for 3 months and saved $5,500 off my original deal but it wasn't worth the aggravation. Sorry for the long reply but I thought it might be helpful. By the way, we're loving the truck. I bought it for my wife and kids because of its 6,000 lbs, 10 airbags, Lexus reliability, etc.

Sweet deal but I agree. If your going to spend that much they shouldnt treat you that way. I had an order in at our local dealer for a few months. Finally, went on line and ordered from a few states away. Took about 2-3 weeks to get the truck in the states but well worth it. Love the size vs my 470.
