ipod integration with nav screen
Looking for something that allows me to integtrate my ipod controls and display into the navigation screen. Lexus told me there is an option via an after market kit for about $600 called Vaistech.
However, the parts person told me there is a Lexus kit also made, but when he looked for the kit for the LX570, only an $80 cord appeared. He believes this Lexus integration kit with the nav system is already installed into the LX570. He is going to get back with me tomorrow.
Does anyone have any information about this??? Sure would be nice to buy an $80 cord than an entire kit.

I am eager to see what your Lexus contact comes up with. I wonder if the cord is just to connect the ipod to the aux...
Ive heard of vaistech but dont know if anyone here's used their product for the LX and how well it works...

Here is the scoop!!
Remember what the parts guy at Lexus thought that all I would need is an $80 cord??? Wrong.
Anyways...there is a Lexus iPod kit that integrates with the Nav screen. It is $550 installed, and it is located in the glove box. You just plug your ipod in, and everything is integrated with nav.
I have not seen any literature or pictures. This is Lexus...not an aftermarket brand. I have been told it is supposed to have more options and is better than the vaistech aftermarket system.
I am getting mine installed next wed.
Hope this helps everyone.

Excellent news!
I wonder if you possibly help with getting a part number or a contact at your dealership....since I'm located outside US (and the dealers here dont know anything about their cars except selling them), I would have to ship the part to me and have it installed locally.
Many thanks

A Little More Info on the iPod Solution Please
Pemarsh,
I've very interested in this solution. Which Vaistech product (model number) did you use? Did you place in the the glovebox? Where can I find pictures of the touchscreen user interface?

I had it done by my Lexus dealer. It works well. Sound quality is actually better than XM satellite. There is a cord in the glove compartment where I leave my ipod connected. Call Vaistech for the exact part number you would need 720-733-2348. They are very very helpful and knowledgeable and will also ensure that your part is the most up to date...there has been a very recent update...they will make sure yours is the most up to date. Turned out mine was not when they installed it (i checked with vaistech after the installation....Lexus was shipped a new part by Vaistech overnight, and was installed next day!)
