I personally think the exterior is mainly all bad because of the rear.
After close examination, I find that the license plate area is too low. It should be higher up equal with the tail lights. Not only that but the actual tail lights are soo ugly...I don't know why they seperated the white from the red. Other than that, its not much different from the LX470 exterior wise.
The interior is where things are happening. I personall still think it is not classy as the outgoing interior though. It didn't that presence I felt whenever I see the interior of an LX470.
I guess the mainpoints to upgrade are interior appointments and the engine.

After seeing the TLC redesign, the LX is starting to grow on me...except the rims :-\

99% sure it's a ladder frame, rigid rear axle, indep front suspension like now. Not sure if there are coils in front like on the GX/4runner/FJC or torsion bars (current LC, overseas hilux), though. Unibody flexes too much. My honda is unibody. When I put it on jacks (all wheels off the ground), the doors don't close as crisply as when the wheels are on the ground. That tells me the unibody is flexing. Not so w/ my 4runner and LX. The body is merely a decoration. You could strip the body off the chassis and drive the frame w/ engine only w/ no difference in offroad performance.

Great, this is a relieve for me. Looked through more of the pictures, and pretty sure:
- I really like the interior, everything except the dash
- what's the deal with the 3rd row seats? Can you take them off, including those piramid-shaped things in the base? To load larger objects, and simply to sleep in it, we always do this when we camp.
- After looking more at various shots, including those of the 570 outside, I'm sure now I don't like the exterior at all. Reason - it looks like modern city minivan/suv, almost nothing left of what I am looking for: rugged&posh, muscular, classy. Ah, got it now - it does not look classy/elegant/muscular, this is mainly what they missed.
