Rear wind deflector/spoiler?
Hiya-
My 2000 470 does not have a rear "spoiler". Driving in rural Georgia, I can't believe how much dirt and dust collect on the rear window/door in such a short time.
Does the rear spoiler significantly help this dirt buildup? Also, I have seen "wind deflectors" that seem to channel the air down over the window and door which supposedly keeps it clean.
Has anyone compared the results of either solution? If anyone did the install his/herself, was it particularly difficult?
Thanks,
GTD

GTD,
The rear deflector is a must. If you look at the Lexus rear spoiler...it has a deflector built into it. If you look at the Landcruiser rear defector it performs the best. I went with the LC rear defelctor and had it painted the color of the cladding....nice touch and it looks/works great. A must have.

I bought it from a Toyota dealer in New England, but I can't find the specific name. I saved about $50 from these folks, who also have it.

It is a GREAT improvement- but not a do-it-yourself deal unless you are experienced poking holes in sheet metal with special rivet tools.
Good luck!
