I check toyotapartsbarn.com for pricing. I normally buy via cdan or Beno via pm on ih8mud.com. Check my prior post here...

I appreciate the thoughts, Dr. Vince. I'll expand the last post a bit by saying that if you LX part is used on a Cruiser, just start with a toyota discount website. If not, google "discount Lexus parts" or similar and go from there. The 2 contacts I mentioned earlier normally supply parts at best pricing which looks to me like 28% or so off list price. Many dealers will extend a 10% discount to Toyota Land Cruiser Association (yes, it includes LX owners) members. I've not seen a recommended dealer that will discount parts pricing here, as of yet.

OP asked the question regarding the Land Cruiser and it's child, the LX.

You're asking about 2 completely different vehicles. I'd go to an online auto parts website, plug in both vehicles, search for the starter for each one, and see what you get.

I can get 10% off at my local Toyota dealer as a member of the Toyota Land Cruisers Association. There are more than a few online sources discounting to 28%, which I've been told by my local Lexus parts guy is as low as they go for large shops with plenty of parts volume.

sorry for bad clarity.....the 10% is in addition to their regular discount, which is 25% or so. they also give free shipping if order is greater than $150.
they give good service, i once forgot to apply the promo code at checkout, called them, and they applied it retroactively.

They are different Part Numbers. The LX 470 ends in 50100 or 50101 where the LS 400 ends in 50020, 50060, 50062, etc.
