Default AHC light blinking 1999 Lexus LX 470

The AHC light is blinking and the front end is lower and bouncy. The rear ride height is okay. I jacked the front end up to the proper ride height and started the car and the blinking light AHC light went out. I tried to raise the height to H but no response. Is there anything I can do before turning to a Lexus dealer?

How many miles and when was the last time the AHC fluid was flushed?

I'd turn to a good Lexus dealer or indy mechanic, depending on who's better in your area.

Thanks Steve. That fluid has never been flushed.

You'll need 2 cans. $30 a can is a good deal, Toyota cheaper than Lexus, generally. The process is explained in detail on mud.

I'd check the resistance of left and right side height sensors. They use a sliding contact to vary resistance based on height and that signals the ecu and pump to start or stop.

If you're seeing leakage on the front shocks, check the AHC hose at the top of each shock...if you're lucky, it's a leaky and cheap o-ring. If not, you shock seals are TU and you need to get new shocks.

Which takes you through thinking about if / when the rear shocks will die and/or any of the globes. Swapping Land Cruiser bars, shocks, and springs will get you out of trouble without too much $$.

Good luck.
