Default Suspension component advice

Hey ya'll I'm looking into getting an LX470 in the near future. I've been reading all the forums the past couple days and have found that overall, it is an extremely reliable car besides the AHC when it gets into higher mileage. So after more reading it seems the general consensus is to scrap it and put on a LC type setup.

Which led me to this picture:

I'm sure some of ya'll have seen it. It's a full Ironman suspension with 295/70/18 Nittos. I don't need tires that high but would like some 33.5's.

Would it be possible to crank the stock torsion bars and use extended shocks to get a leveled look?

Another route I was considering was the Ironman torsion bars with shocks up front for 2.5" and Slee's OME 1.5" springs/shocks in the rear. Would it be possible to fit 33-34's with that?

Alternatively, what would prevent me from moving the sensors higher up front and getting Ironman torsion bars to level out the neutral pressure? Would that not also lift it and keep the ahc?

Thanks!

I don't know much about the AHC, but you can certainly crank the stock torsion bar a bit and stuff a short 33" tire (like a 285/75/16; I'm not sure what the equivalent 18" size would be) in there. Or you can upgrade the torsion bar and get some new rear springs (plus shocks all around) to lift it a bit at all 4 corners. Most 100 series trucks I've seen end up with a small to medium sized rake due to the limitations of the front IFS. That white one below seems to have the front suspension cranked pretty high, but the picture angle is likely affecting the stance a bit as well. If you crank up the front too high, then ride quality suffers and your CV axles will wear out more quickly.

I think your plan to stay under 2.5" up front is a good one.

285-75R LT's are easy with no changes under a box-stock LX or LC. 305's will fit but barely...she may need some simple easy trimming on the front mud flaps.

I'd disagree with dumping the AHC if it still functions...far more are on the road with AHC than without.

I never had an AHC failure in over 360k so far and I don't expect it anytime soon. If I did I would certainly fix it, as oppose to replacing.

Yea I saw this picture

That's just the AHC almost to the top and the torsion bar cranked. I'm thinking I'm going to do that and run some 295/70/18's.
