99 black/ivory lx470 with 125,000

Bought it brand new and have loved every minute of it.

It has seen many places and has been the best car I have found for summer vacations, ski trips, camping, and just long road trips.

Mods.....
-Valentine radar hardwired about rearview mirror
-power inverter in rear (for TV's and Laptops)
-Yakima roof rack on top of factory rack
-HID headlights
-Manik brushguard
-PIAA brushguard lights
-wood steering wheel and shifter
-Sirius satelite radio
-chrome shift bezel from 03-05 LX
-ION yellow fog lights
-windows all 5% lumar tint
-chrome door handles
-rear spoiler
-stowaway cargo box
-color-matched window visors

Wish list......
-ARB or TJM bumper powdercoated to match
-Warn winch
-fender flares
-monochromatic trim

I have not posted too much in the past but I am getting better. I know that lx470 very well and i can usually help answer most questions.

Other Cars...
-03 black/saddle SC430
-01 silver/black GS430
-04 black/tan Range Rover
-04 black/tan Ford Explorer Sport Trac

2000 LX 470 Dark Gray/gray with roof rack, tow package, auto leveling suspension
1998 GS400 Black/Black factory HID, L-tuned shocks/springs, Brembo X-drilled rotors, Axxis metal master pads, Goodridge braided stainless steel brakes lines, JDM chrome trunk bar, 20% tint all around, coming soon: SSR GT3 18 X8.5 rims, upgraded handling and sound system
1992 SC400 DPW/gray SilverStar bulbs, LexTech Lighting guage illumination, VFT control arm bushings, x-drilled/slotted rotors, EBCpads, st. steel brake lines, tint all around.

Love the LX470, its my wife's daily driver and we use it to tow our two-horse straight load Sundowner horse trailer with dressing-room. Fully loaded about 5,600 lbs (including horses) Power is adequate except when pulling fully loaded trailer. TRD makes a fully plug and play bolt on supercharger for the 4.7 L engine which can be purchased for about $3,600 if you do your homework. Its a fully approved Toyota part and the claim is for 50% increase in hp and torque. Anyone have any experience with this mod? 350 hp and 475 ft/lbs of torque might just be what this baby needs.

97 LX, Champagne/Ivory - 75,000 miles. One of the most solid trucks out there.

Before that had the 94 Land Cruiser, basically the same body style.

Default Hi

Got an '01 in Champagne.

Much off-road in the Sierras and some in Conn. Not enuff.

Only mod is an ARB Bull Bar and 10,000 winch. They tell me it is the 2nd one ever installed in the US (after the demo one). Doubt it.

The install is clean and almost Lexus quality. The driver side blinker needed a bit of tape to keep in contact.

The winch works well under very heavy loads. Light loads are just not there.

OEM electrical system supplies what you need. I also use an accelerator stick to keep the RPM's up when using the winch for more than a minute or so.

Slee has the winch as does 4x4 Connection (East Coast) and the experience. I used 4x4. Good guys and Toy friendly.

The other mods are small.

However, now that my 50K has elapsed, I will be doing more at both Slee and 4x4.

Happy travels!

No mods planned for the LX, unless someone can interest me in where I can find more power...

SC has variety of mods that really compliment the car.

Must say, this is my second LX, the other was green, they are excellent and great SUV's! Ultimate in luxury and comfort.

Love the LX, gives whatever it can for an SUV, but I would like alot more power. It is really underpowered imho.....maybe 22" wheels in the future, gotta be HRE's though..... Its the commuting vehicle and gets driven mostly in the winter when weather does not permit the SC to come out! Oh and also trying to get phillips HID on the car to better light the road at nights, if I can do some research and figure out what pieces i need....I think it would look really nice with the 04 green tint in the headlights.

thats about it, don't really come on the LX board too often, but I think I will try to visit it more often!

I got the same 04 lx with Blizzard Pearl. I had them put the gold emblems on at delivery. Gold is worn off in only 17K, so I am going to get a set and have them powder coated in black.

yeah powdercoated black lexus emblems look good on most cars imo. Especially black cars!

I have silver emblems, doesn't wear off like the gold your talking about.

Question Front Brake Lock Up on 2001 LX470....at 57K miles?

I bought a used LX470 with 38K on it...I drive about 3K miles per month (90%) Freeway.

5 days ago my front pads started howling...yesterday my front tires locked up!

This happened on Satruday evening ....I will get my pads done tomorrow..

Any comments?

Wow, front tires locking up because of brakes that can't be good. Like I said earlier I have 73,000 miles on my mine and have never changed the brakes. Of course I take it to the dealer every 5,000 miles for service but they have never changed the brake pads.

Yeah I have to say about the same. You might want to go and have that inspected, who knows the previous owner may have been a very heavy breaker.
