LX450 Power Issues
I just purchased a 1997 LX450 2 months ago. It is in great shape for a 200,000 mile vehicle however I notice severe power issues within the first 15 minutes of starting for the first time of the day. After visiting my family's lake house I have notice on several occasions it is almost incapable of climbing the paved driveway, however I have used it a little offroad after a 35 mile drive and it seemed to perform really well both forward and reverse on terrain much steeper than the driveway.
I have replaced the plugs and installed a performance chip (doesn't work and is going back). I have also tried alternating 87octane without ethanol and 93 octane fuel. The air filter is new and I ran a fuel system clean out product through a tank of gas. None of these have corrected the issue.
Could someone please tell me is this normal. I know this vehicle is known for its lack of power however if it won't climb a paved hill then it is worthless to me. BTW: I have tried to climb the driveway in H, L, 2nd and H (Pwr) function.

does the truck have any check engine lights on? when you put the key in and put it to the ON position but are not cranking and the truck is not running, the check engine light should be on if it is not and the truck will crank then the light is either removed or blown. if this is the case go pull the codes and see what it says.
