Default LX-450 VS LX-470 comparison help

As you all know i have been looking into buying either the 450 or the 470.I have driven both and here are my thoughts about them.
LX-450:
1)-Love the shape
2)-Love the interior and especially the seats
3)-Feels lot more solid as compared to LX-470
4)-As a driver you feel more connected to the road.
5)-Only thing lacking is the Towing capacity (5000lbs )
6)-Inline 6 as compared to V8
LX-470:
1)-Don't like the shape
2)-Interior seems better then the LX-450 but seats are very uncomfortable. You sit on the seats as oppose to in them with LX-450
3)-The drive is very soft and it feels cushy.
4)-Towing is almost 6500 lbs.
So after having driven both seems,i'm inclining more towards the 450 and the good thing is that i do have one locally here with 60 k miles, dealer serviced and i can probably pick this baby up for around $20,000. So what do you all think especially the drive.

Default Good choice

either one is fine.

Please note that transmission is the same on both vehicles, but the LX450 has advantage (disadvatage? of the front rigid axle.

Sounds like you should purchase the LX450. I prefer the modern look and features of the 470, but that's IMHO.

Good luck and like AKoch said, either model is a fine machine.

I've got an '97 Lx450 and it's great, never had a mechanical problem with it. The only problem I have is that it is underpowered. I love the 470's interior and feautures over the 450. Either model would be a great choice.

You'll learn to hate the looks of the LX450 quite fast.....

Francis,
As a matter of fact it's the looks & the seats of LX 470 that i don't like I prefer the '98/'99 LC/LX the one that's V8 & has one headlight on each side but wonder if the seats ergonomics are the same as the latter models or not.
O btw are you selling your 450 or not or know of any one that is, pref with under 40K miles.

Default well...

I can go on all day long but I do love the looks to, but I'm the only one. Maybe because I'm young and I care too much what other people think.

Well anyway, actually I am looking to sell and it does have around 38k but I paid a lot for it and wouldn't be taking any low offers, few low mileage ones left around.....

Let me know...

Francis,
What color is your LX.The book i think is around $21,000 + what ever it comes to for a low mileage so how much do you want for it.When did you buy it and also do you have all the service history.
Yeah i know about the sig but sorry the Supra is not for sale

It's black and in perfect condition. Better condition than when I got it. All the problems that these cars could ever have has been weeded out and I even managed to get rid of most of the body roll. The book actually says about 26.5. I paid 31k for it about a year ago. I took it in for Lexus service once at 30k and since then my cousin who is a mechanic has taken care of it, I realized that when you take it in for the routine maintenance all they do is change your oil.

Damn....how is she anyway?

Unfortunately i'm not looking for a darker color at this time but i'll keep in mind any way.Regarding Supra she's getting a C's Short throw shifter hopefully today and by next week i'll have TRD front and rear sway bars and Cusco CF rear Strut brace put in too.O forgot to tell you she's got only 20,xxx documented miles

Default Towing...

I know the LX470 used to have a tow rating of 6,500 pounds. But I just got a 2003 brochure, and it says max towing is rated at 5,000 pounds. Why would it go down? The engine is 5HP stronger.. . new 5 speed auto.. maybe the wheels?? Does having the larger wheels take away towing capacity?? Where did the 1,500 pounds of capacity go??
