2007 LX Sports Edition, I'm tempted to...
trade-in in my 2000-LX but I am wondering if the price is just right. See attached, thanks.

93k miles is a lot for being an '07. I love the fact it's one of the limited edition models with the black wood, etc. but I think I would look for one with lower miles. Have you contacted your local Lexus service department to ask them if they show it was regularly serviced?

My wife is a bit claustrophobic and when I let her drove my old LX, she never wanted to drive a car again (she used to drive an old Corolla). I got rid of the Corolla and I got myself an HS which only lasted a few months.
Luckily I was not hurt bad when a girl texting ran a red light and found me (Slowly) making a left turn and used the side of my car to stop her honda which was flying through the intersection.
Lexus should not make anymore SLOW hybrids because when you need to make a quick move to avoid something, you're sitting duck! I remember flooring the accelerator to avoid her but the HS-250h hesitated.
I took my LX back from my wife when the insurance paid me and I bought her the GX. The LX just gives you
a feeling you're driving a "tank", and I've driven a real tank in the past.

the lx is a very solid vehicle, that being said i got into an accident in my es300 and while it was only maybe 15 mph but i drove the car home. I got into another accident in a 1996 ls400 which was beign driven by a friend and the car saved our lives. Lexus tend to be very safe and well made vehicles from my experience.

If you buy a car w/ high miles, just make sure all the recommended service was done. The tranny fluid should have been replaced along w/ the super long life coolant at 60K mi. Ask if the timing belt had been replaced. If not, it'll cost you some $$$ to have it done. It should be done around 90-100K miles. Generally, you want to change the t-belt, two pulleys, tensioner, water pump w/ O-ring, both radiator hoses, the serpentine belt, and the thermostat and maybe radiator cap. Also make sure to use Toyota super long life orange coolant (premixed). You'll need probably 3 gallons. At 90K, the brake fluid should also be changed. The AHC fluid should have been changed at 60K. If not, have it changed. Also, the power steering fluid should also have been changed.

I was just thinking the same thing. I have a 2000 LX470 and just broke 104k on it...but someone really drove the crap out of this truck in 4 years! For that kind of money it should have half those miles imho. It does look like a nice truck but like Jim_Chow pointed out...if they didn't maintain it you'll put even more money in it. I'd look for less miles...highway miles is still miles.

I ended up trading my 2000 LX for a 2010 RX and let me tell you it's one of themost difficult thing I had to do, to give up my family mover. My wife and kids have gotten used to the spaciousness and comfort of the LX that they cried a bit when we drove home the RX. I wanted to trade my LX to a newer LX like the special edition one but having done all of the maintenance over the years myself, I am a bit old to be doing a hobby like it at this stage of my life. I've had the a RX for a few weeks now and I have not gotten used to the considerable road noise.
If you have the opportunity to get a low mileage LX, it's so much better than buying any Lexus other than the LX or GX model due to less emphasis on sound/noise reduction especially the newer ones.
