Ash tray and power window
Hi Everybody,
Just joined the forum today after keeping an eye on it for some time. This is my first post and I live in Australia. I have a 2004 LX470.
My problem is that all of a sudden I can no longer open the front ash tray and the passenger window will no longer operate with its own switch. Will work from the master panel on the drivers side. I dont smoke, but when the window stopped working I started to check all sorts of items. Is the ash tray electrically operated? Have checked all the power window fuses and all are OK in both foot panels.
By way of introduction, I have a 2004 LX470 with 200,000 kilometers on the clock. It has been converted to duel fuel LPG at 150,000 K's - vapour Injected with a 123 litre tank and I still have the main 95 ltr petrol tank. The LPG tank fits where the spare tyre was. I do not carry a spare any more, instead the tyres are filled with a special sealing fluid good for the life of the tyre and I carry a pressure pack instant repair kit, just in case, and a good 12 volt compressor. I usually get 100 litres of LPG into the tank, have to allow for expansion, and can get 630k's on the open highway and around 550 around town. I then still have the main petrol tank which I generally keep around 1/4 full. I also tow a 2.5 tonne caravan with a tow ball weight of 200+ kilos so have fitted air bags inside the rear springs and can vary the pressure to still allow me to use the full functions of the AHC when not towing. Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

The ash tray does not have electrics. I had a 99' lx470 and now have a 2007. The ash tray mechanism did change. The newer one has a gear on it. It can jam if you put too much rubbish in the front ash tray.

LX 470, 206K Miles. I am having issues with the passenger window switch as well. Full control from the master panel but the passenger can only put the window full up or full down with no in-between stops (which I can do for it on the drivers side). I do like that my wife has to hold her hand at a certain height where she wants the window down to, I may have control issues.
I attribute it to the fact that at some point I'm going to have to change out that switch.
I also have issues with the speed that both BACK windows go up and down, some days they won't go back up without assistance. I think that may be motor issues that I'll have to deal with later as well.
