Lexus Announces Intent to Voluntarily Recall Certain LX 470 Vehicles
http://www.lexus.com/recall/
Has anyone received notification that their vehicle was affected by this recall? I called my local dealer today and he said my LX was included in the recall. I am bringing it in tomorrow for the fix. He said it should be ready the same day. Has anyone else taken theirs in?

I haven't been notified, but when I called my dealer the service manager looked it up and said a part would need to be ordered, and they would call when it arrived so I could schedule the service.

I took it in this morning and the service guy asked if I was going to wait. That kind of took me by surprise since the tech I talked to the day before said it would take a full day. I'm glad I didn't wait because the car is still at the shop but they said it would be ready first thing in the morning. Hopefully it's good as new when I pick it up.

I just had mine done today, about 3.5 hours. I didn't even know about this recall until my dealer called me to set up the appointment. Pretty nice service, in my opinion.

Just picked it up today. I really don't notice any difference, other than some new scuff marks on my formerly clean carpet Other than that, it's good as new.

Had my 03 done last week. Extremely disappointed with this recall. The steering is extremely tight after the recall work was done, almost like driving a car without power steering. Service tech also failed to reconnect the cruise control, not sure if this was just a bad service/replacement or is anyone else with an '03 experiencing the same.

Just got the recall notice in the mail today. Will schedule something next week. If it tightens the steering, I would prefer it as one of my peeves was the steering felt too loose on this truck.

Got mine done today. I think the steering feels a tiny bit tighter (feels better), but it's hard to tell since it's my wife's DD, and I've been driving either my LS or the loaner RX more than the LX. Had the remainder of my 90K service done today, too (I changed the front/rear diff and t-case fluids, TB, and will do the A/C filters). These are the items I had replaced: timing belt, timing belt tensioner, timing idler pulleys (2), water pump w/ metal gasket, O-rings (2) for water pump, radiator hoses, thermostat & gasket, PCV valve & grommet, coolant, and serpentine belt. The t-belt looked good...could have easily gone another 10-20K miles. Serp belt was shot. Here in AZ, the serp belts only last 45K mi.
